In September 2022, we began to discuss the ‘Cost of Living Crisis’ in our school worship sessions. The children were asked to think of ways we could support those in need and decided that supporting a local foodbank would be an effective way to help those who were struggling
Our Bright Lights then worked to find a local foodbank and it was decided we would support Skelmersdale Foodbank. Our generous school community raised nearly 100kg of food.
Our Bright Lights group took the food that had been collected to Skelmersdale. There, they were shown what happens to the food collected before it is given to those who need it.
