Child Protection

The child protection policy provides an overview of the school’s position and arrangements in respect of child protection; it makes clear the school’s commitment to the development of good practice and sound procedures. The document also provides clear direction to staff and others about expected codes of behaviour in dealing with child protection issues to ensure that child protection concerns and referrals are handled sensitively, professionally and in ways which prioritise the needs of the child

Operation Encompass

Our school is taking part in Operation Encompass.

Operation Encompass is a unique Police and Education early intervention safeguarding partnership which ensures that a child/ young person’s school is informed, prior to the start of the next school day, that there has been a domestic abuse, vulnerable child or missing incident to which the child or young person has been exposed, and which might then have an impact on them in school/ college the following day.

Lockdown

The ‘Locking Down’ of school should be seen as a sensible and proportionate response to any external or internal incident which has the potential to pose a threat to the safety of staff and pupils in the school. The main aim of the procedures is to ensure that all pupils and adults are kept as safe as possible inside the school building.
